Will has always been passionate about protecting the plants and animals that surround us but growing up in Ottawa his exposure to ocean conservation was minimal. That changed when he visited British Columbia for the first time at a young age. From that point on for Will, getting back to those misty shores and learning about the endemic marine life was the goal. That was accomplished when Will began studying at the University of British Columbia, where he earned a BA in Geography focusing on Environment and Sustainability.

From there, Will focused his energy on improving zero waste efforts for the benefit of our oceans by engaging numerous stakeholders in the Lower Mainland.  It was through this endeavour that he was introduced to the world of regenerative aquaculture via oyster and kelp farming. Situated with his background and passion surrounding biogeography and ecosystem dynamics, Will is always energized to help push for more sustainable seafood throughout the supply chain. His love for food and all those that are involved in bringing it from its source to our plates inspires him to work with wonderful businesses and individuals to build more sustainable food systems.
